Academic Year : 2007-2008
- April 2008:
- A series of Lectures in mathematics by visiting professors ( Smail Djebali from ENS Kouba, Algiers, and Abdel Ghani Zeghib, CNRS, Lyon, France).
- Demonstration of a scientific movie " the 4th dimension" for university staff and students, followed by a meeting and discussion between students and the professors.
April-May 2008:
- Organizing the first regional mathematical Olympiad. The first top ten students were honoered and recieved by the local authority (the governor of El Oued).
-26 July-13 August 2008: The first summer school in mathematics.
The school was organized in collaboration with the institute of exact sciences and technology of the university center of El Oued. The lecturers of the school were all volunteers coming from different national and international institutions. The lectures were in different mathematical topics, some lectures were about standard courses followed by tutorials, however some were in some selected topics.
On the margin of school the Foundation bureau members and the professors participating in the school held various meeting with the local authorities ( the governor and the local council, the mayor and the local council of El Oued city) and discussed future collaborations and the future of the university center of El Oued specially the institute of exact sciences and technology.
